In 2011 we submitted a resolution to the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, to advocate on behalf of rural Manitoba to increase childcare funding working towards increasing the number of spots. Below is a link of the actual resolution and the response from the Minister.
2011 Resolution and Minister Response
We continue to have a shortage of childcare spots in the Pembina Valley. This is a huge obstacle for attracting professionals like doctors, teachers etc… Over the past year we have noticed an increase in community support towards the Morden Community Childcare centre, we just need to get the provinical government to recognize the need for childcare and the effect it has on attracting employees of all skill levels.
